Heavily-visited web site
A dedicated server differs from a virtual server in that the entire computing power and bandwidth belong to you. A virtual server will guarantee a minimum bandwidth of 2 Mbps, although most of the time your actual speed will be much higher. If your web site is the core of your business, however, there is no need to risk.
Internet project requiring high computing power
Examples are an application or a network robot. Using a virtual server for such a project will mean that a high load on the projects using the same physical server may impair your resources. If this is unacceptable, you need to rent a dedicated server.
Remote corporate server
A dedicated server gives you full control over hardware and software. If you do not want to rely on third-party (i. e. our) experts in such matters as setup or security, rent a dedicated server.
